As many of you know, I’m very big on authors doing podcasts (and being guests on other people’s podcasts!). It’s one of the best ways to reach your target audience and create an on-going mutually beneficial relationship with your readers.
While consulting with a client this past week, I realized that I need to demonstrate how to do a podcast. So I wrote a detailed article on how you can create a podcast you will actually produce and promote.
You can find that article here:
. Note: You have to be a paid subscriber to this newsletter to access the full article.
But here is a free idea on how you can go about creating a podcast that draws more and more listeners, readers, and potential customers: Create a calendar that you stick to for producing your podcast episodes. Commit to one episode a week. Or three episodes a week. Or whatever works for you.
Here’s my commitment for the rest of the year for this Book Marketing Success podcast. I’ll create 5 episodes a week released at 9:00 a.m. every day. Each daily episode will have a theme:
Mondays — Motivational Mondays will feature short quotations and comments to motivate you for the coming week. Episode length: about 5 minutes.
Tuesdays — Quick Tip Tuesdays will feature a key book marketing tip with comments. Episode length: about 5 minutes.
Wednesdays — Wicked Resource Wednesdays will feature a book marketing, social media marketing, or internet marketing resource to help you sell more books, courses, webinars, etc. Episode length: about 5 to 10 minutes, possibly with videos to showcase the resources.
Thursdays — Story Time Thursdays will feature a success story from authors and publishers, stories that you can emulate to market your books. Episode length: 5 to 10 minutes, possibly with a video as well.
Fridays — Interview Fridays will feature an interview with an author, marketer, social media superstar, or publisher that will provide detailed information on how to master an action or create a key item in your marketing plan. If you can share some great book marketing ideas and stories, I’d love to interview you! Email: bookpromotionexpert@gmail.com to schedule an interview.
Q&A Fridays — Once a month or so, Friday will future a live Q&A session with me rather than an interview.
Make sure you don’t miss an episode!
