Page One is a section of Poets & Writers magazine that features the first sentence or two of new novels, poetry, and memoirs. As they say:
With so many good books being published every month, some literary titles worth exploring can get lost in the stacks. Page One offers the first lines of a dozen recently released books, including The Orchestra of Wind Chimes by Geoffrey Jacques and Ada’s Room by Sharon Dodua Otoo.
The Page One section online (https://www.pw.org/tags/page_one) also features excerpts from the books featured in the section and, in some cases, also features the authors reading an excerpt from their books.
So, if you have an upcoming new novel, poetry book, or memoir, be sure to send a copy of your book to Poets & Writers Magazine, 90 Broad Street #2100, New York NY 10004; 212-226-3586; Fax: 212-226-3963. Email: friends@pw.org. Web: https://www.pw.org.
Note: You should subscribe to Poets & Writers before submitting your book for a Page One first lines feature (they seem to feature the work of subscribers).
