One-Sheet for a Children's Book
If you write children's books, model your one-sheet after Jane Lowry's one-sheet
If you want to be booked as a guest on radio shows, TV shows, podcasts, Facebook Lives, webinars, blogs, school visits, etc., the first thing you should create is a one-sheet.
What Is a One-Sheet?
A one-sheet tells people the basics about you all on one page: your name, your book title (and a little about your book), your book cover, your photo, how to contact you (email, phone number, website), where to buy your book, a short bio, and anything else you think people would like to know about you.
If you write children's books, model your one-sheet after Jane Lowry's one-sheet. Note how she tells people that she can do a read-aloud, slide show, and solar or wind energy demonstration. And then tells people what classes she would be best for (grades one through four).
Her one-sheet, as currently designed is primarily aimed at school teachers and media specialists to help her book school visits. With a few changes, she could create another one-sheet to book podcast guest appearances or TV appearances.
I hope her one-sheet inspires you.
The above one-sheet was created by Rebecca Finkel of F + P Graphic Design (https://www.fpgd.com) with the help of the author Jane Lowry.
I’ll be sharing more one-sheets in future newsletters and podcasts.
