Stories and Truth is a country ballad adapted from various quotes written by novelist Orson Scott Card.
Use this song as inspiration to write your story and share the truth. Stop walking pass all the story ideas you run across every day.
Stories and Truth lyrics
Everybody walks past
Walks past a thousand story ideas
Every day, every day
Good writers are the ones
Who see five or six story ideas
Every day, every day
Most people don’t see any
The most important training
Is to experience life as a writer
Questioning everything
Inventing multiple explanations
For everything, all things
If you do that
The other things will come
If you don’t
There’s no hope for you
Most of us read these stories
These stories we know are not true
Because we’re hungry
For another kind of truth
The mythic truth about human nature
The most specific truth of all
Our own self-story
Our own story
Sometimes lies are more dependable
More dependable than the truth
Metaphors have a way
A way of holding the most truth
The most truth in the least space
Sometimes lies are more dependable
More dependable than the truth
Metaphors have a way
A way of holding the most truth
The most truth in the least space
